Not All Beds Are Created Equal…
When it comes to dog beds there’s a few things I look for. Apart from comfort and durability, machine washable and doesn’t get ratty after a few washes is important to me.
It’s also good to ask the purpose and place the bed will be used for. Cooper loves his hut for a feeling of comfort and privacy. He then uses a bordered/ circle bed to hang his head off of and then uses a flat padded bed to really sprawl! In the mornings and late evenings Cooper will make his way to his raised bed place in his shaded area on the balcony. Coop and I have curated a list of his favorite cozy dog beds that not only provide the utmost comfort but are also pup-approved!

Why the Best Dog Beds for Your Pup Actually Matter
A good dog bed is not just a luxury it is an investment in your dog’s health and comfort. Dogs sleep anywhere from 12 to 14 hours a day which means the bed they sleep on matters just as much as the one you sleep on. The best dog beds for your pup support their joints, regulate their body temperature, and give them a safe space that feels like their own.
What to Look for When Choosing a Dog Bed
The best dog beds for your pup should check a few boxes before you buy. Look for machine washable covers because life gets messy and you will be washing it more than you think. Memory foam or orthopedic fill is worth the extra cost especially for older dogs or larger breeds. Size matters too — your dog should be able to fully stretch out without hanging off the edges. And durability is everything because a bed that pills, flattens, or falls apart after a month is not worth a single penny. 🐾
Orthopedic Dog Beds
An orthopedic dog bed is the perfect choice. These beds are designed to support your pup’s joints and muscles, making it easier for them to rest and recuperate. Look for options with memory foam that contour to their shape for optimal comfort. Some favorites among dog owners include those with a high-density foam base, providing an exceptional rest experience.
Calming Donut Beds
For pups that tend to feel anxious, calming donut beds offer the perfect snuggle experience. The round shape allows your furry friend to burrow in, providing a sense of security. These beds are especially beneficial for small breeds who seek warmth and comfort. Many of these beds are designed with soft, supportive materials that help to soothe anxiety, making them a favorite in homes with skittish dogs.
Elevated Dog Cots for Warm Climates
If you live in a warmer area or enjoy outdoor adventures, consider elevated dog cots. These beds keep your dog’s body off hot surfaces and provide ample airflow, which is perfect for summer days. Many cots are also lightweight and portable, making them ideal for camping trips or visits to the beach. Give your pup a cool, comfortable spot to relax, no matter where your adventures take you!
Cooper has tested every single one of these beds and given them his official paw of approval. At the end of the day the best dog bed is the one your pup actually uses and loves.
Happy napping! 🐾☕
